Carl Jung's Ideas on the archetype
Jungian psychology regards human development as a journey or quest in which the soul goes in search of itself. Self-realization, also referred to as self-actualization or individuation, refers to the idea of wholeness in which the personality is integrated and in which the various aspects of personality work together toward a common goal, rather than working at cross-purposes.
We all have positives and negatives
Positives are our ego
We all wear different masks for different people, reveling a little or all of our true person
The four masks which i wear is one for teachers. parents, friends and acquaintances the emotional traits and actions that i show towards each are listed in the images below from my visual diary
Negatives are our shadow
The Shadow archetype is the elemental, foundational archetype representing all that is instinctual-the latent dispositions common to all people .The Shadow is most easily observed in others because we project our Shadow selves.
After acknowledging our shadow self's traits we had to ask our parents if we had any of the similar traits when we were between 18months and 2years. This was also done for our positive / ego self.
I then reflected in my visual diary weather if i still had some of these traits today.
